Youth are empowered to become leaders in their communities through internships, developing key qualities such as responsibility, accountability, and professionalism.
When youth take part in internships during high school they learn responsibility, professional conduct, strong work ethic and job skills, preparing them to enter the workforce.
The Aspiring Youth Intern (AYI) program is a volunteer-based program, designed to prepare youth for leadership roles at EOBA and beyond. The Youth Intern Program is for youth who demonstrate maturity and dedication to EOBA. Youth Interns (YI) are paid stipends and are play integral roles in the running of programs. They also receive mentorship and college preparation workshops as part of the Care Coaching Program.
High School/Community Partnerships
Youth learn more when they partake in hands-on, interactive work. We partner with many local high schools and community based organizations to provide youth with a space to learn about youth development work and complete school based projects.
Our partners include Youth Uprising, Spanish Speaking Citizen's Council, Highway to Work, Youth Bridge, BuildOn, Envision Academy, Coliseum College Prep Academy, Lighthouse Community Charter School, and Bishop O’Dowd High School, among others.
