The East Oakland Boxing Association serves youth ages 5-20 who are residents of Oakland. Our programs are divided into two age ranges:
Younger Youth: (Ages 5-13) Youth ages 5-13 are eligible to enroll in the EOBA after school program. This program follows the OUSD school schedule. We are open M, Tu, Th from 2-6pm and W and F from 12-6pm. Youth must attend the after school program at least 3 days a week in order to maintain enrolled. To enroll your child or young adult in our after-school program please call or stop by the EOBA office to pick up an application, or download an application in English or Spanish. A parent or legal guardian is required to attend a program orientation on Wednesdays at 5:00pm (Spanish) or 5:30pm (English).
Older youth: (Ages 14-20) Youth ages 14-20 are eligible to enroll in our Youth Leadership Program and/or in our Boxing Program. Youth who would like to enroll in our Boxing program can fill out an application and return it to EOBA gym or office staff. Youth enrolled in the Boxing program are required to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours a month to maintain their gym membership. Youth interested in our Youth Leadership Program can speak to our youth intern coordinator, Cris Cruz (Cris@EOBA.org) for eligibility requirements.
